Campbell’s were contracted to provide 390kw of cooling for a new AHU with a 3 stage DX cooling coil to one of the production areas where the client was experiencing quality control issues due to the bakery temperature being too high for the baking process.
We chose 3 x Trane RAUS air cooled cooling only condensers due to their twin scrolled compressors providing us with 6 stages of cooling over the 3 condensers in order to better control the air on temperature.
The works included offloading and positioning the 3 units below the rather large and unusual shaped AHU ensuring with Trane technical that minimum air flow requirements as well as service access was achieved.
Our experienced installation engineers designed and chose their pipework routes and installed the copper suction & discharge pipework, Armaflex insulation, liquid line driers, liquid line solenoids and sight glasses.
Campbell’s realised early in the design process that there was not any control strategy for both the new AHU & DX condensers and offered to provide this service with our experienced BMS control partners.
Working alongside ourselves our BMS contractor supplied & installed a small HVAC control panel with a Trend BMS controller to connect to the new Trane condensers & AHU. Along with some ambient & duct sensors and some airflow proving switches a programme was written and the new panel installed internally to provide temperature control to the production area.
The new system was commissioned and our engineers provided the client with some training for their new control panel in order for them to understand the principles of how their new plant works.
The baking production area now has the temperature control that the client requires to allow them to restart their production that had been temporarily stopped due to quality control issues.
