Campbell’s were contracted to provide a varied HVAC package at Edinburgh Napier University Broadcast Newsrooms at their Merchiston campus.
The works consisted of installing 3 new Daikin ceiling mounted cassette split systems and repositioning 5 existing systems as well as installing KRP BMS interface cards.
The existing supply & return ductwork from the old central AHU system was modified to suit the new room layouts as well as rerouted to the new AHU, new supply & return diffusers were installed throughout the rooms as well as new fire dampers and access hatches.
A new IV Produkt AHU c/w thermal wheel was installed to provide the required ventilation air changes as well as being the primary heating & cooling source, to achieve this the AHU has a combined heating & cooling coil that is served by an Airedale Heat pump Chiller.
The works included the installation of screwed & socketed steel flow & return CHW/HTG pipework complete with trace heating, buffer vessel, motorised valves and pressurisation unit.
All CHW pipework, MCW pipework & supply & return ductwork were insulated and labelled by one of our sub-contractors.

The new HVAC systems were successfully commissioned and O&M manuals as well as As fitted drawings were provided for the cleint.
