Campbell’s were contracted to supply & install Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning & heat recovery Ventilation over 4 floors at Ballantine House, 168 West George St Glasgow that was being refurbished by Clansman Interiors for the incoming tenant.
Although there was an outline design, and due to the period features on the ground & 1st floor Campbell’s had to produce a detailed Air Conditioning & ventilation design & drawings for approval to provide the services to the lower ground, ground, 1st & 2nd floors.
A further challenge that was thrown up was that there was no roof space for the external Air Conditioning condensers and a small area was identified in a central light well that would prove challenging for the crane operator.
The Air Conditioning works included the supply & installation of 3 Mitsubishi VRF heat recovery systems comprising of 32 ceiling ducted fan coils, 8 floor mounted fan coils & 37 of individual remote controllers, 1 AG150 central controller, 3 BC boxes & 3 external VRF condensers including all pipe work, condensate and containment to provide simultaneous heating and cooling to the required areas.
The server room had 1 single Mitsubishi wall mounted split system installed in order to keep the IT servers cool.
The ventilation works included the supply & installation of 3 Mitsubishi Heat Recovery ventilation units to provide both supply & extract ventilation to each floor to provide fresh air to the intake of the VRF fan coils and return air from the ceiling void plenum.
The floor mounted chassis A/C fan coils on the ground floor were elegantly boxed in by Clansman Interiors to provide a feature in each room of the period property.
